This regional seminar on "Revitalization of trades and knowleges" December 12-15, 2002 held hundred Macedonians, Romanians, Bulgarians and French around the professions related to architecture, restoration, and revitalization of trades and traditional knowleges.

Established in partnership with neighboring countries of Macedonia such as Albania and Bulgaria, this seminar, carried by the Ministry of Culture of Macedonia and the Embassy of France, was a highlight project of 2002.

Romanian, Bulgarian and Macedonian ministries, embassies of France and French cultural centers have supported these meetings which have provided a new starting point for regional projects.

Beyond trades directly linked to architecture and built in general, the seminar should address to all of the most significant trades such as textiles, metal (ironwork, filigree, jewelry ...), skins and leather or ceramic. The revitalization of traditional trades, can be an asset for economic development through their impact on the restoration and on the creation of products for tourism.

The reflection focused on the knowledge of these trades, training, renewal through the creation and dissemination and promotion of local produce.
